Ten years ago, GrowGroup was founded with a clear ambition: to develop and realize innovative and sustainable cultivation solutions for challenging markets around the world. A decade later, GrowGroup has grown into a leading project developer of controlled cultivation systems, with projects across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The anniversary is marked by the introduction of a renewed version of the GCS Grow Container Concept, combined with a limited-time anniversary promotion.

"Over the past ten years, we have gained extensive hands-on experience," says John Breedveld, Managing Director of GrowGroup. "Not only in technology, but especially in understanding what truly works in practice for our clients. All of that knowledge has now been incorporated into a fully updated GCS concept."
The GCS (Grow Container System) is a modular cultivation system based on containerized units, designed for local production of fresh crops under fully controlled conditions. The concept is particularly suitable for regions with limited water availability, extreme climate conditions, or a strong dependency on imported produce. In its renewed form, the system is more efficient, flexible, and scalable than ever before.
Cost efficiency was a key driver in the redevelopment of the system. "We see that clients are increasingly focused on return on investment and operational simplicity," Breedveld explains. "That is why we have further optimized energy consumption, simplified the climate control system, and increased the effective growing area per container. At the same time, water savings remain extremely high, and the system enables 100% pesticide-free production."
The cultivation possibilities have also been expanded. While the GCS system was initially mainly used for leafy greens and herbs, the renewed concept can now be configured for a wider range of crops, depending on the selected setup. This allows the system to be tailored to local market demand and specific sales channels, ranging from retail to foodservice and hospitality.

To celebrate its anniversary, GrowGroup is launching a temporary promotional offer on the renewed GCS Grow Container Concept. Clients who commit within the promotional period can benefit from an attractive discount on the complete system. "This is our way of thanking both existing and new clients for the trust they have placed in us over the past decade," says Breedveld. "At the same time, we want to lower the threshold for organizations looking to invest in local and sustainable food production."
GrowGroup positions the GCS concept not as a standalone product, but as part of an integrated solution. Depending on client needs, the company supports projects from feasibility studies and system design through to realization, training, and operational support. "This integrated approach is what has distinguished us over the past ten years," Breedveld concludes. "Technology is important, but success ultimately depends on how it is applied in real-world conditions."

With the renewed GCS Grow Container Concept and the anniversary promotion, GrowGroup looks ahead to the next decade, in which local food security, water efficiency, and controlled environment agriculture will become increasingly important worldwide.
