Growtainers completes multi-unit tissue culture facility for major global agribusiness company

"Another major step forward in modular, scalable plant propagation technology"

Growtainers has announced the completion and delivery of a state-of-the-art multi-unit Growtainer facility designed and built for one of the world's largest privately held food and agribusiness companies. The new facility will serve as an advanced platform for plant tissue culture and micropropagation, supporting their ongoing innovation in crop science, plant breeding, and sustainable agriculture.

The customized Growtainer units—engineered for precision environmental control and modular scalability—provide an optimized setting for in vitro plant propagation, enabling high-throughput, year-round production of clean, uniform plantlets. Each precisely engineered unit integrates advanced LED lighting, HVAC, automation, and monitoring systems that ensure consistent microclimate parameters across multiple production zones. © Growtainer

"This project represents another major step forward in bringing modular, scalable, clean, and efficient plant propagation technology closer to commercial deployment," said Glenn Behrman, Founder and President of CEA Advisors, designers of the Growtainer. "Our client's leadership in agricultural innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver controlled-environment systems that accelerate research and production at any scale."

The facility's multi-unit design, consisting of a combination of 40' and 53' containers, enables seamless workflow between stages of tissue culture—from initiation and multiplication to rooting and acclimatization—within a completely bio-secure and energy-efficient environment. The Growtainer system's mobility and modular structure also provides the client with the flexibility to expand or adapt its operations as new varieties or production requirements emerge.
