ORION Space Generation Foundation recently hosted a delegation from Japan at the Csillagváros Kft. Egreen Farming Solutions R&D vertical farm in Hungary, bringing together expertise in controlled-environment agriculture and emerging food technologies.
The visiting delegation works across a range of innovative food technology fields, including 3D-printed foods and next-generation gastronomy solutions. During the visit, the group received an overview of the facility's vertical farming operations and sampled microgreens grown from Japanese plant varieties. The visit also included discussions on potential areas for future collaboration in agriculture and related fields.
The delegation was guided through the facility by Petra Valent (CEO), Gergely Csulik (Vertical Farm R&D Engineer), and Orsi Meier (Cooperative PhD researcher in space crop research).
Orion Space Generation Foundation and Csillagváros Kft. operate at the intersection of terrestrial and space-based agricultural research, with a focus on expanding international partnerships across agriculture, biotechnology, and space technologies.

The foundation was represented by Petra Valent and Roland Meszter, PhD, Scientific and Innovation Director.
The seminar brought together representatives from Japanese and Hungarian innovation ecosystems, covering topics across agritech, food technology, biotechnology, and space technology.
During the event, the foundation introduced its #SeedToSpaceMission initiative, which prompted discussion around the future of vertical farming, advanced controlled-environment agriculture, and the role of space-driven innovation in food production.
