Indoor Farm Factory Innovation (I.F.F.I), in partnership with Siemens, has introduced mobile vertical farming racks at selected NTUC FairPrice outlets in Singapore, bringing locally grown fresh produce directly to consumers at the retail level.
The vertical farming racks are powered by Siemens automation technology and are designed to deliver fresh local greens at any location, regardless of climate conditions. According to the companies, the system generates lower CO2 emissions compared to conventional field farming, while the integrated technology continues to support the sustainable growth of the produce while on display in-store.

The initiative reflects a broader trend toward shortening supply chains and increasing the availability of locally grown produce within urban retail environments. By positioning living vertical farms within supermarket settings, I.F.F.I and Siemens aim to offer consumers access to fresher produce while reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional distribution models.
