Sometimes plant biology goes awry and you need to discard plants. You are likely discarding processed and packaged materials too. It’s important to document this loss. Forecasting is also difficult to do accurately if we don’t know all of the information and loss is a huge factor in accurate forecasting.
"Our new feature allows you to log the discarded plants, processed material, or packed inventory right when you record a move. Previously, you could log the discard when you are in the batch profile page, after scanning a plant barcode, or if you added a discard action to your plant templates," they say.
Any recorded loss will be available in reports and compliance logs so that you can show exactly what happened and what was lost on each batch. The loss will also be included in your future batch forecasts so you have accurate forecasts at all times.
