Teens for Food Justice board adds new members

Teens for Food Justice (TFFJ) has welcomed three new Board Directors who will contribute to its mission of ensuring access to healthy, fresh, and affordable foods grown with 21st-century hydroponic farming techniques.

“We are thrilled to bring on three new strong allies to our board, whose diversity, career achievements, networks, and deep personal commitments to the next generation will help us achieve an even bigger impact in disadvantaged communities,” said Katherine Soll, CEO and Founder of TFFJ, in a press release.

The new Board Directors include:

  • Alejandro Muñoz-Suárez, Chief Executive Officer of Fuku, previously with McDonald’s Corporation, JP Morgan, Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group, and Momofuku.
  • Alexandra Galindez, Chief Executive Officer of ROAR Beverages, previously with Brand Nurturer, RUNA, BluePrint, Facebook, and Univision.
  • Norah Yahya, Senior Government Affairs Officer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, previously with The Parkside Group, The New York Public Library, the New York City Council, and Liberated People.

Galindez plans to expand the TFFJ program in Miami. “With every single major city in the U.S. facing food insecurity, the TFFJ model is something that deserves to be broadened and incorporated across the country,” said Galindez. “I want my two daughters, who are 12 and 14, to see how to lead by example. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to be able to show them the importance of paying it forward.”
