Danish company to manufacture smart shelves for new mobile vertical farming solution

LED iBond International A/S (LED iBond) has signed an agreement with UNI-TROLL Europe ApS and TPS Rental Systems Ltd to deliver smart shelves for a patented new load carrier trolley (UT-M2 VF
Rack) with vertical farming capabilities during transportation and storage. LED iBond’s shelves feature built-in grow light, a key element of the innovative mobile vertical farming solution designed for growing and maintaining fresh herbs and microgreens.

The three parties to the agreement forecast a volume of up to 10,000 smart shelves during 2022–2025. LED iBond has just received the first order for smart shelves under the agreement.

Pia Stangerup, CEO of LED iBond says: "LED iBond is deeply engaged in developing new solutions for the booming vertical farming industry. We are particularly pleased to supply our vertical farming technology to UNI-TROLL Europe’s mobile vertical farming solution. With the new green trolley, we support the opportunity for users to get
frees herbs and microgreen and at the same time ensure minimal spill-rate. And even more exciting, our technology enables cost and energy-effective smaller vertical farming sites exactly where they
are needed, for example in restaurants and supermarkets."

According to the agreement, UNI-TROLL Europe will produce the new trolley while TPS Rental Systems will take part in the rental, financing, and sale of trolleys in the European market. Søren Bøgede Andersen, CEO of UNI-TROLL EUROPE says: "I am delighted that LED iBond and TPS Rental Systems are now joining forces with us. LED iBond’s
technology and vertical farming know-how have been essential ingredients in the final vertical farming trolley. Together with TPS Rental Systems, we are going to market with a top-efficient
solution for flexible, scalable – and most of all mobile – vertical farming solution, a unique offering to a very large market."

Michael Gotfredsen, COO of TPS Rental Systems says: "TPS Rental System has the financial and organizational strength to take this innovative vertical farming concept to market. The mobile vertical farming solution is an attractive value proposition to a very large and interesting group of customers that we are looking forward to serving.”
The agreement does not change LED iBond’s previously announced financial outlook.
