Growing hydroponics in Mumbai

Agriculture is not the most popular profession amongst young adults. However, Joshua Lewis and Sakina Rajkotwala from Mumbai aim to change that.

In 2017, Joshua and Sakina went to Pondicherry, where they had the opportunity to meet Krishna Mahenchi from England. He was interested in agricultural practices that are in harmony with nature. Seeing his drive has been a huge motivator for both Joshua and Sakina. On their return to Mumbai, the two started a farm called 'Herbivore Farm', Mumbai's first hyperlocal hydroponics farm. where they grow more than 2,500 plants.

Herbivore Farm is located in East Andheri, Mumbai. Set on 1,000 square feet, Herbivore Farm has 2,500 varieties of plants. “We made many mistakes in this endeavor. We learned a lot from them," said Joshua.
