US (GA): Indoor grower in Metter leads hydroponic growth Georgia Grown Community

The future of farming is here inside several modified shipping containers tucked away in a downtown Metter warehouse.

Welcome to Better Fresh Farms. "At no point in time when I was attending Georgia Tech did I think I would end up farming lettuce," explains Better Fresh Farms founder Grant Anderson. "But, I learned in business school that if you see a need and meet it well, you have a quality business opportunity."

Grant Anderson planted the seed for his new business back in 2016 in Effingham County. The hydroponic operation moved to Metter shortly after and has been growing (no pun intended) ever since.

"Just grateful for all the support we've had locally," says Anderson. "If it wasn't for a number of folks at the state and local level that have gotten behind us, there's no way we would be where we are today."
