CESeL Primus, a South Korean agriculture technology (AgTech) startup, has forged a strategic partnership with PT Batam Indo Agri Perkasa, a subsidiary of Indonesian conglomerate Salim Group, the company said on Wednesday.
The partnership includes cooperation on the cultivation, marketing, and distribution of hydroponically grown salad vegetables and eco-friendly Korean strawberries.
Salim Group, operating a hydroponic vegetable farm on Batam Island, close to Singapore, holds a vast distribution network across Southeast Asia, including major convenience store channels in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The partnership will leverage Salim Group's extensive supply chain to foster the distribution and entrusted production of leafy greens and strawberries within the Indonesian market. Under the agreement, CESeL Primus will establish a vertical strawberry farm in Indonesia to provide technical support and sell strawberries across Southeast Asia, including Singapore.
