This year marks the 60th year of Conviron's founding. Over the past six decades, Conviron has grown to become the industry's leading designer and manufacturer of plant growth chambers and rooms, contributing to crucial advancements in plant science, sustainable agriculture, and global food security.
Founded in 1964 in Winnipeg, Canada, Conviron was originally born with a vision to support the plant science community's need for precise environmental control. As the importance of controlled environments to the discovery process grew, so did Conviron's business – propelling its exports to over 90 countries around the world and establishing of branch offices in the United States, the UK, and Australia.
As of 2024, Conviron has now produced more than 20,000 plant growth chambers.
John Proven continues, "New applications for plant growth chambers and rooms have challenged us to innovate and design new products. For example, clients have challenged us to build growth houses, and larger pieces of equipment as they moved crop trials from growing outdoors to growing them at scale indoors, recognizing that instead of one or two crop turns a year they could get as many as five and six. Our equipment can accelerate their research programs and timelines."
