Unused Chicago warehouse transformed into aeroponic facility

A once-unused 10,000 sq ft warehouse in the northwest suburbs of Chicagoland has been transformed into a state-of-the-art vertical aeroponic farm. This innovative, family-owned operation—run by Nic and Diana Geudtner—is now home to over 14,000 grow ports, producing nutrient-dense herbs and leafy greens for the local community.

Local restaurants are already lining up to secure ultra-fresh, hyper-local produce. In time, Living Roots Farm will expand its offerings through a robust CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program in collaboration with other nearby farmers and specialty food producers.

Sustainable indoor agriculture is the future of farming. Vertical aeroponics offers a responsible, efficient growing solution—using 90% less water and only 10% of the land required by conventional agriculture. With the ability to grow consistently year-round, this model provides tremendous value to chefs, restaurant owners, and individuals who care about how their food is grown and want a transparent, environmentally conscious food supply.
