Josephine Teo visited Greenphyto Pte Ltd's flagship facility last week and saw what the world's tallest vertical farming system looks like in full operation. The indoor farm runs on a blend of AI and computer modelling that tracks and fine tunes every part of crop growth. Light, temperature and nutrient levels are adjusted with precision so each plant gets exactly what it needs.
Greenphyto has been part of IMDA's Digital Leaders Programme since 2024. Through the programme, the company has taken on masterclasses and secured funding that strengthened its data engineering and software development capabilities. These efforts have pushed its digital transformation forward and supported the development of new, advanced solutions.

During the visit, Teo met Eileen and Zhou Wei, whose backgrounds in Electronic Engineering and Data Science shape their work in agri tech. They bring technical depth and industry knowledge together to optimise the farm's operations. Teo described them as "digital farmers," the people who will run tomorrow's farms with AI, technology, precision and strong planning.
She noted that bilingual AI talent like theirs is essential for helping enterprises innovate and use AI to tackle real challenges.
