Kind Farm CEO honored for leadership in food production

Stephanie Mok has built a career at the intersection of construction, engineering, and food production, with a focus on making agriculture more resilient and local. She is the co-founder and CEO of Kind Farm Services, where she leads large-scale controlled environment agriculture projects in the United States.

Mok is currently overseeing a 65-acre greenhouse development, one of the largest of its kind in the country. The project aims to reduce reliance on imported produce by growing tomatoes, peppers, and other crops closer to where people live. Beyond food supply, the facility is expected to create hundreds of construction jobs and more than 200 permanent positions, while lowering emissions tied to long-distance transportation.

Her approach reflects a broader view of agriculture as both an environmental and social issue. Mok has supported efforts to cut carbon output, improve food access in underserved areas, and include minority-owned businesses in large development projects. These priorities shape how Kind Farm Services plans and executes its work.

Before launching the company in 2022, Mok held roles across aviation, manufacturing, and greenhouse operations. She worked on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner program in Austria, held leadership roles at Hilti in Liechtenstein, and later helped manage greenhouse expansion projects across the U.S. at BrightFarms. This mix of technical and operational experience prepared her to lead complex agricultural developments.

Mok's outlook is also rooted in family history. For generations, her family worked in food production and construction across Central and Eastern Europe. She holds an MBA from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a project management certification.

Alongside her professional work, Mok mentors women in the controlled environment agriculture field and remains involved in volunteer efforts through community and humanitarian organizations. Looking ahead, she plans to continue expanding domestic food production projects that support local economies and strengthen long-term food security.
