Ukraine war veteran grows microgreens and edible flowers

Vasyl Kozak from the city of Krasyliv in Ukraine's Khmelnytskyi region voluntarily joined the defense of Ukraine in 2022. He served in the 65th separate mechanized brigade. Two years later, Vasyl Kozak was mobilized and decided to engage in a completely new activity for himself – growing microgreens. This was reported by veteran.agrianalytica.

"I saw a video on YouTube, I liked it. Microgreens have many advantages. First of all, they grow very quickly. Regardless of the climate and weather conditions. This is a product without chemicals and harmful fertilizers, and also very useful in winter," – the veteran said.

He studied his own business on his own – everything gradually and solely at his own expense. He learned from videos that are publicly available, as well as adopted experience from other farmers.

The veteran has been growing microgreens for about a year and a half. He has a room of about 50 square meters, where he grows a variety of plants: lemon balm, basil, amaranth, onion, cilantro, lupine, sorrel, mizuna, peas, mustard, watercress, and more. He also grows edible flowers.
