Hiring activity appears, but WARN filings remain unchanged

AeroFarms’ April closure window passes without confirmation of closure or sale outcome

The most recent WARN notice submitted by AeroFarms identified a potential closure window for its Ringgold, Virginia, facility between April 17 and April 30, 2026. As of May 1, no further update has appeared on the Virginia Works WARN portal confirming either a facility closure or a revised timeline.

In its March 27 filing, the company stated that it expected to complete a proposed transaction with a potential buyer in April 2026 and that its lender had agreed to provide additional short-term funding to continue core operations while the diligence and sale process advanced. The notice indicated that the facility could shut down if the transaction did not close within that timeframe.

Recruitment activity appears online
At the same time, recent recruitment activity associated with AeroFarms has appeared online within the closure window. A LinkedIn post by an AeroFarms recruiter lists several open roles, including Automation Engineering Manager, Nutrient Technician, Production Supervisor, Sales Analyst, Senior Accountant, and Warehouse Manager.

The AeroFarms careers page also currently lists the same active openings across multiple operational and technical positions. The company has not publicly confirmed whether the transaction has since closed.

Vertical Farm Daily has reached out to AeroFarms for comment regarding the status of the Ringgold facility and the proposed sale process. No response has been received at the time of publication.
