Photo report: Connoisseurs in for a treat at Seed meets Technology

Connoisseurs are in for a treat. For companies that treat, count, weigh, prime, improve and work with seeds in many other ways, Seed meets Technology in the Kop van Noord-Holland is the place to be this week.

It is not as busy as in previous years, which undoubtedly has to do with the limited and restrictive entry requirements. Nevertheless, the space is well filled, and there is a cheerful atmosphere and, moreover, it is by no means just Dutch. Quite a few French and Germans managed to find their way to Vertify in Zwaagdijk, as well as some Swiss, Danes, Belgians, and more.

Parallel to the trade fair, lectures and symposia take place continuously. Seed meets Technology is a place for exchanging knowledge, more so than at the larger trade fairs known in our sector, or even at Greentech, where the builders and suppliers for horticulture are gathered. After all, seeds are complex, techniques develop quickly, and the average seed house itself, although in essence an agricultural company, increasingly resembles a university research lab.

Simultaneously with the fair, various breeders and seed companies are organizing trials/open days.
