Find out who won which award

Last day of the Vertical Farming World Congress

As the Vertical Farming World Congress continued, the second day of the summit was all about panels, with various speakers lined up from all around the globe. And, of course, the gala dinner that many attendees were looking forward to finding out who actually won which award. We have them summed up for you below, but first, we'll have a quick recap of day two of the event.

Panels
This year there were many diverse panels present, which brought nice variation and contrast to the program. From limitations, or rather opportunities, new trends such as AI and robots, the usual cost tag of vertical farming, to new products that have been entering the industry: the vertical cultivation of insects and fish.

CCO Michael Spencer shared, “We appreciated the opportunity to present to our peers and the industry as a whole to share our company’s insights into the importance of process design in order to achieve mass balance for commercial scale farming.”

A special moment in vertical farming history
During one of the panels, the first Vertical Farming Manifesto and Identity was signed, which holds both clear and bold industry standards. These standards highlight the impact and contribution the industry intends to make to transform current food systems and help to solve one of humanity's toughest challenges of providing food for a growing population in a sustainable, circular way.
