US: Green Career Week coming up

Last fall, Seed Your Future launched Green Career Week to enlighten the youth about the benefits of careers in Horticulture, Floriculture, and Agriculture related professions. Hundreds of high schoolers experienced careers working with and around plants during field trips, classroom visits, and via social media throughout the week. Nearly 200 companies, large and small, played a role in highlighting careers in the industry. Following the success of the Green Career Week, the next one is scheduled as well. The next Green Career Week will take place from February 27-March 3, 2023.

Seed Your Future created Green Career Week to help companies reach the next generation of professionals. "Green Career Week is a US campaign led by industry professionals to increase awareness about green industry careers and help build relationships with local high schools", the organizers share.

During Green Career Week, participating businesses and organizations will connect with local high schools to showcase the various career paths at their business. "Of course, you can reach out to schools anytime during the year – and we encourage you to do that – but by working together during a designated week, we can give the industry a louder voice", the organizers share.

Companies are encouraged to register their business and contact their local high school to plan a school visit or a field trip to their businesses during Green Career Week. To help them do so, free recourses are created.
