US (NY): Bronx students receive new aeroponic farm setup

Students at P.S. 168 were granted a custom classroom kitchen, brand new supplies and a greener classroom. The nonprofit Green Bronx Machine joined the students in Norwood to introduce them to their new classroom, which has an aeroponic growing tower.

The students also got to taste test smoothies, and organizers say more delicious healthy eats will be coming out of that green classroom. "If we can change the palate, we can change the trajectory of their health not only now, but for the rest of their lives,” said Stephen Ritz, founder of Green Bronx Machine.

P.S. 168 is the first of three Bronx schools set to receive these state-of-the-art classrooms to fight food insecurity.
