Sign up to hear ‘what’s growing?’ in vertical farming

Join CHAP to hear ‘what’s growing’ in vertical farming, during a free webinar that aims to explore some of the latest developments within controlled environment agriculture.

The online event, which is taking place on April 28, will discuss the latest trends and potential opportunities, including novel crops for pharmaceutical purposes and alternative protein production, innovative agri-tech solutions of the future, and where the industry is heading from a retail perspective.

The speakers include CHAP’s Dr. Harry Langford and entrepreneur Dr Beenish Siddique from AEH Hydrogel. Attendees will also hear about work taking place at CHAP’s Vertical Farming Development Centre at Stockbridge Technology Centre. The event will conclude with an interactive live Q&A.

Strategic Marketing Manager, Janine Heath, said: “Having recently exhibited at New Scientist Live in Manchester with our vertical farm demonstrator unit, we found that interest in the sector was huge, especially from the general public. Often conversations turned to the economics of vertical farming, and how we can improve the financial viability of such systems whilst addressing sustainability issues.

“This webinar aims to address such questions by demonstrating how applied agri-tech solutions and proactively seeking alternative applications can help to drive the industry forward in a positive manner. We are delighted to be joined by guest speakers such as Dr. Siddique, whose innovative growing substrates are transforming the sustainability credentials of vertical farming.”

The webinar is part of CHAP’s recently launched Bridging the Gap Between Today and Tomorrow campaign, which explores how agri-tech innovation can bring new thinking to global food chain issues.
