Vertical Farming Conference, 24 November

Making vertical farming fruitful and colorful

Innovative farming technologies mean that plants can now be grown in indoor environments without sunlight. This cultivation process is ideal for propagating young plants, cultivating full crops, and growing healthier, pesticide-free crops. It maximizes production by using ground-breaking vertical farming lighting to light multiple layers of crops, achieving a higher yield with a smaller footprint.

During the sixth edition of the vertical farming conference, which will take place on 24 November in THe Netherlands, Stefan van der Voort, Plant Specialist Vertical Farming at Signify, will give a talk themed 'making vertical farming fruitful and colorful.' He will argue that cooperation is key to creating fruitful and colorful products. Finding new ways of food production together with our global partners and stimulating creativity to grow sustainable food.

Technologies/services that can enhance plant growth, like sensing, artificial intelligence, and data-driven services, have the greatest potential in the short and long run. This will be key to serving the changing consumer needs.
